Feeders

  • The SMIC feeder is a versatile, scalable and configurable system for interlocking sheet metal forming machines.
  • Large range of feeders to automotive presses and lines of presses for the production of whichever type of Medium to Large Part. This is particularly suitable for lines of presses for the production of parts of Automotive & Household Appliances.
  • In its basic form, it consists of two linear axes orthogonal to each other for loading / unloading operations. The three-axis configuration transforms it into an interpressa and a fourth axis allows the orientation of the piece being gripped.

Weilding Robot Island

SMIC Automation takes care of all manufacturing and assembly process: the components are manufactured by partner Companies, while all assembly operations, pneumatic and electrical wiring are carried out by SMIC inside its plant until final inspection. Each robot is tested by SMIC Automation until the objects required by the customer are achieved and then it is delivered to customer for the final inspection.

Reduction in Weld Distortion

Distortion in a weld occurs from the expansion and contraction of the weld metal and adjacent base metal during the heating and cooling cycle of the welding process. SMIC Robotic welders are tuned to correctly size the weld for the requirements of the joint, minimise the amount of weld passes and complete the process with speed to minimising the heating of the surrounding metal that can expand and lead to distortion.
